Richins Surname Association

William Richins Headstone

In 1999, The Richins Surname Association, in partnership with the descendants of Annie Richins & John F. Morgan sponsored an initiative to purchase a headstone for the William Richins gravesite in the Provo, Utah City Cemetery. Contributions from the Morgan family descendants and the extended Richins Family totaled $840, which covered the cost of the gravestone. We appreciate your support for one of our earliest Richins ancestors to accept the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and come to Utah. – Alden Richins

About Us

Representatives from the various Richins lines met together in Salt Lake City on August 28, 1966 and organized The Richins Surname Organization, which would cover all spellings of the name, including Richins, Richens, Richings, etc.

On August 14, 1975, we were incorporated as a non-profit organization in the state of Utah as The Richins Surname Association. Family reunions were held every year until 1993. Alden Richins was selected president of the organization in 1966 and continues to serve in that capacity. Hazel Richins has served as the family genealogist from the beginning. All other officers have changed over time.
