Mary Ann Darrow

Mary Ann Darrow was born in Hebron, New York in 1818. She was a weaver by trade. She married Edmund Richardson and moved to Indiana where they made plans to establish a Presbyterian colony in Oregon. While crossing the plains on the Oregon Trail, their ox died and they were required to detour to Salt Lake City, Utah. They stayed in Utah the rest of their lives.

Edmund Richardson

Edmund Richardson was born in Mount Holly, Vermont in 1816. He married Mary Ann Darrow in 1840. They trekked towards Oregon with the intent of helping to establish a Presbyterian colony there. The family had to stop in Salt Lake City, Utah because their best ox died. They joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and remained in Utah the rest of their lives.
