He married Mary Jane Jones in 1874 and lived in Henefer, Utah. They move to the Grouse Creek Valley (Utah) in 1877 where he lived out his life. He passed away in 1932.

On November 25, 1852 at Fall River, Bristol County, Massachusetts, Joseph William Bond joined the family of William and Mary Ann Barker Bond. Soon thereafter, Bond family moved wets with other Mormons to settle the valley of the Great Salt Lake. In 1864 they moved on northeastward to a small village called Heneferville, where Joseph grew up. Later he married and moved to settle Mesa, Arizona. He passed away in 1943 at the age of 90 years.
